What If You Suspect Child Abuse
If you suspect a child is being abused immediately respond to the information given
to you by a child or the indicators of child abuse by reporting the event to your
State Child Abuse Report Line or attending a GP or hospital. Many cases of suspected
neglect and abuse against children are reported every year. Child protection services
investigate these reports and, if needed, work with families to ensure children
are protected. They work with families and try to find solutions to problems by
talking directly to parents and children.
