Respite care
Under the
Child Care Benefit Scheme eligible grandparents may be entitled to receive up to 50
hours free child care per week, per child, for each child they care for. This is based on
approved care, which includes most long day care, family day care, before and after school
care, vacation care, some occasional care and some in-home care.
To find an approved child care service call the
Child Care Access Hotline on 1800 670 305 (TTY 1800 639 327) between
8am and 9pm AEST Monday to Friday, or find out more about the Grandparents Child Care
Benefit (GCCB) from the Family
Assistance Office.
